Rice Lake Pelicans. We tried again this morning, but were not able to get any closer. Duck Island, between Rick Lake and Big Lake, is the home of Duck Island Sand & Gravel. After an extremely large earth moving truck drove up and down the gravel road spewing dust over us several times, we gave up and went back to the car. The smokestack from the Edwards powerplant is reflected in the lake.
